Windsurfing: Felixstowe Fludyers Wind Direction: ESE/WSW Wind Stength: F4 Surf / Sea State: flat / small waves Air Temperature: warm Sea Temperature: warm Weather: sunny Max Speed: 25.13 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 18.47 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Great unexpected sail after looking at the dreaded offshore wind in the
morning. Hooked up with Maker skulking at the dip praying for wind
direction changed.
Took off round the corner to the Fludge and yep cross on. Rigged 8.7 H2 /
146L JP Excite pro ed - a lethal combo if not too much waves.
Had a great sail banging down to the pier twice. Gutted after a big tight
beat to the pier hoping for a GPS burn up back the wind dropped a bit so
just planning. All that effort wasted! Wind back up in minutes and had
loads of wave rides in and burn up out. Maker was going well but the old
school boards don't point so high for a pier run.
Andy M turned up had a few runs with him - hitting a lobster pot whilst
watching Andy, another swollen elbow.
Wind freshened 5 ish and couldn't hang on - but the 2 hr stint with only a
minor adjustment stop took its toll - quit whilst ahead.
Dave Coles was out later on formula looks to be tanking it in what must
have been a F5 on a big sheet.
Parking was dire as the weather was good and every holiday maker was out.
Planing 90% of the time so 5 stars...
